The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has finally taken up the remodelling of the storm water drain (SWD) on Mysore Road. With this, the flooding woes at Sri Gali Anjaneya Swamy temple will soon end.

Mayor N Shantha Kumari, who visited the place on Thursday to inspect the work, said the project would be completed within six months. She said: “The residents in the vicinity had complained that water from the nearby storm water drain gushed onto the road and the temple, every time it rained. An amount of Rs five crore is being spent on the SWD work that started a week ago.” The Mayor also visited Lakshmamma Memorial at Koramanagala and said that Rs one crore had been released towards its development. The memorial has been built in honour of Lakshmamma, daughter-in-law of Kempegowda, the founder of Bengaluru, for her sacrifices.
