Bengaluru: A three-day international film festival titled, 'The Nomad’s Haven: Home, Belonging, and Nostalgia' will be held from Monday at the Indian Institute of World Culture, BP Wadia Road, Basavanagudi.

Organised by the Bangalore Film Society in collaboration with Marupakkam, Gamana Women’s Collective, and the Indian Institute of World Culture, the festival will showcase 24 films from India and abroad.

Jessica Williams, a curator from the Bangalore Film Society, revealed that over 40 entries were received, with films selected based on the festival's theme.

Notable international entries include 'A Letter to Lanka' by Sri Lankan filmmaker Ilakkiya Simon, 'Parallels and Elegy for a Village' by French filmmaker Benoit Maestre, and 'Namarali' by Australian filmmaker Tim Memmery.

The festival will open with 'Home' (Ghar Aangan), an animated film by Nina Sabnani.

Other highlights include Kannada film 'Sunflowers Were the First Ones to Know', directed by FTII graduate Chidananda S Naik and a qualifier for the Oscars; Kashmiri film 'Cat’s Attic' by Nundrisha Wakhloo and Daksh Punj; and Assamese film 'Lullaby of Waves'. These will be screened alongside 20 other Indian films.
