Mysuru: Mysore-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar has said that he is not interested in becoming an ambassador for the promotion of Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL) products.

“The Mysuru royal family is not involved in commercial services. We will always be in favour of Kannada brands,” he told reporters.

“We are against the appointment of (actor) Tamannaah Bhatia (as the brand ambassador for Mysore Sand Soap). KSDL is an organisation built and nurtured by Kannadigas. It should have chosen internationally popular Kannadigas as its ambassadors. Why should they choose an actress to promote a soap? Does it have a gender difference? Cricketers and good lead actors could have been chosen. Selecting another language actress is an insult to Kannadigas,” he said.
