Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has once again reacted to Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw's tweet that highlighted the municipality issues in Bengaluru, this time labelling her statement as a "personal agenda".
While talking to the reporters, the Deputy CM took a jibe at the entrepreneur and asked why they did not raise the issues during BJP regime.
"They have some personal agenda with them. Why didn't they open their mouth during BJP regime," DKS said.
However, Mazumdar-Shaw clarified that she has criticised the infrastructure conditions in the city during BJP and JDS regime too.
"Not true. Both Mohandas Pai and I have criticised deteriorating infrastructure in our city to previous BJP & JDS Governments. Our agenda is clear clean up and restore roads," she posted o X.
The row began after Shaw recently took to her social media to address the garbage issue in the city and questioned why the municipality of the city has failed to solve it.
"Garbage is a serious malaise countrywide n no municipality of big cities has managed to solve it. Indore n Surat seemed to have cracked it but mumbai delhi Bengaluru etc haven’t. Very very pathetic which shows citizens lack of civic sense n huge apathy by both citizens n administration. We lack pride," the post read.
Following this, DKS also put out a post on X, saying that challenges do exist, but they are being addressed.
"Yes, challenges exist, but we’re addressing them with focus and urgency. Instead of tearing Bengaluru down, let’s build it up - together. The world sees India through Bengaluru, and we owe it to our city to rise united!" his post read.
