The high court on Tuesday ordered notice to the Anti Corruption Bureau in a bail petition filed by Rajajinagar corporator G Krishnamurthy of the Congress.

Krishnamurthy and two BBMP officials were recently arrested by the ACB on charge of accepting Rs 15 lakh bribe for clearing contractors’ bills. Krishnamurthy contended that he has nothing to do with the contractors and that he has been targeted by the ACB.

A contractor was entrusted with the work of renovating the RTO complex at Rajajinagar at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore. He completed the work by the end of 2015, but his bills were not cleared for more than a year. Krishnamurthy and BBMP officials had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 38.5 lakh from the contractor to get the bills cleared.
