Now, free Wi-Fi in BMTC's non-AC buses

 The Bengaluru  Metropolitan Transport Corporation is working on providing free Internet and smartphone-based entertainment on the new non-AC buses.

BMTC has called for tenders to instal the Wi-Fi and entertainment system in 1,000 non-AC buses.
Commuters will need smartphones for accessing the entertainment system which is expected to include movies and videos.

These services will be provided by the agency which gets advertisement rights. The7.2-mbps-speed Wi-Fi, however, is limited to browsing till 30 mb and users will have to pay for downloading data beyond the limit. “The project may be extended to other buses in the coming days,” an official said.
