These machines have advanced features designed to facilitate quick and contactless issuance of QR-based tickets, gradually replacing the traditional single journey tokens.

The 2-step process

With a two-step process, passengers can obtain a ticket in less than 30 seconds.

Select your destination: Passengers can select their destination by choosing from an intuitive drop-down menu or using the integrated route map. They will have to confirm the number of passengers and review the fare displayed on the screen.

Make payment: Passengers can use any UPI-based app. Upon successful payment, a paper QR ticket will be instantly generated.

Commuters can use the QR ticket at both entry and exit fare gates. Once the journey is completed, passengers are encouraged to dispose of the paper ticket in the designated waste bins at the station, the BMRCL said.
