Bengaluru: Five people died on Saturday after a fire broke out at a plastic floor mat manufacturing unit in Nagarthapet in Central Bengaluru.
The deceased have been identified as Madan Kumar (38), his wife Sangeetha (33) and two children Nitish (7) and Vihan (5) and their neighbour Suresh Kumar (26).
Fire department sources told DH that the control room received the distress call at 3.15 am.
"Five water bowsers were sent to the spot to douse the fire," the source said.
The incident has occurred a day after one died and nine were injured in a suspected cylinder explosion near Wilson Garden.
