Bengaluru: A 24-year-old man was killed and his two pillion riders were injured in a road accident on Magadi Road in the early hours of Sunday.
The Kamakshipalya traffic police said that Jagadish, a resident of Tunganagar, was riding a bike with his friends Ravi KV, 26, and Sunil, 24, when they collided with an SUV making a turn on Magadi Main Road. The crash, which occurred around 2.30 am near the Byadarahalli police station, proved fatal for Jagadish, who died on the spot.
Jagadish sustained severe chest injuries after hitting the side of the SUV, while his two pillion riders suffered minor injuries and are out of danger.
"They were heading towards Ramanagara as one of them lives there. They were triple riding, and though neither vehicle was speeding, the crash proved fatal," said a police officer at the scene.
The trio worked as housekeeping staff for a private firm. The police have seized both vehicles and registered a case, naming Jagadish and the SUV driver as accused.
