Vehicular movement from DVG Road Junction and Mallikarjuna temple street towards Netkallappa Circle has been prohibited, making it a one-way traffic. The restriction will be effective from June 24, said the City police.

Areas surrounding Basavanagudi, especially the Netkallappa Circle have been witnessing heavy traffic.

Though a traffic signal was put up at the Netkallappa Circle, it did not help ease the situation, resulting in frequent traffic congestion, said M A Saleem, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic).

“We conducted a survey of the area and decided to introduce one-way traffic on the last part of DVG Road that leads to Netkallappa Circle,” he added. However, movement of vehicles from the opposite direction is allowed.

Vehicles from Gandhi Bazaar towards Netkallappa Circle will be restricted at DVG Road junction and Mallikarjuna temple street and they have to take a deviation either at left or right and reach Subbarama Chetty Road passing through the Mallikarjuna temple street.
