A new online meetup will discuss the life and works of less known poets. It is called ‘Across the Continuum’ and is started by Sourabha Rao, a writer-poet from Mysuru, who now lives in Bengaluru.

The series will begin on February 22, with a discussion on the Polish poet Wisława Szymborska. The session will explore the bifurcation between the human world and that of other living beings, as seen through Wisława’s lens. ‘View with a Grain of Salt’ and ‘Poems New and Collected: 1957-1997’ are Sourabha’s favourite anthologies by the Nobel Prize-winning poet.

The idea to start the series came to Sourabha while she was hosting a nature poetry session at a bookstore recently. During the event, she realised that many attendees were unfamiliar with some of the most influential poets of the 20th century.

She hopes the series will “find its own rhythm” and transition to offline events.
