“Why is he sitting among ministers? Is he still a minister or not?” Leader of the Opposition R Ashoka asked in the Assembly in the post-lunch session.

Law Minister H K Patil and Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would answer the Opposition’s questions. When the Opposition did not budge, Rajanna said: “Whether or not I have resigned, whether or not someone has asked me to step down…the CM will clarify.”

Siddaramaiah did not attend the Assembly post lunch as he huddled in his chamber to hold marathon meetings in the wake of the Congress top brass’ diktat to sack Rajanna.

Earlier, when the Assembly first commenced, Siddaramaiah was seen having a serious conversation with Rajanna and Home Minister G Parameshwara.
