A 24-year-old painter died on the spot after being run over by a goods train in Thanisandra on Friday.
According to police, the incident occurred when Vijay, native of Mangalore, residing in Thanisandra, fell off an over-bridge after losing balance while painting the over-bridge constructed over the rail tracks.
A goods train coming from Channasandra and heading towards Yelahanka, ran over him, killing him on the spot, police said. “The contractor did not take adequate safety measures and has been for negligence,” said a police officer from Baiyappanahalli railway police station.
