The Interlocutory Application (IA), filed as part of a pending PIL petition, also sought a ban on related construction activities within the lake or its buffer zone.

The IA was moved by Geetha Misra, one of the petitioners in a batch of PILs concerning lake encroachments in Bengaluru.

The application requested the court to direct the relevant government authorities, including the BWSSB and the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), to prevent the aarti from taking place on March 21 (Friday) or any future date within the buffer zone or inside Sankey Tank.

The court is likely to hear the IA in the next couple of days.
