A photo of a police inspector and a sub-inspector lifting the son of a minister during a party has gone viral on social media. Sunil Bose, son of PWD Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa, is facing criminal charges of forcing V J Alphonsis, a Mines and Geology official, to take a bribe from an illegal miner.
A city court had summoned him last week in this connection. Police officials in the photograph have been identified as inspector Raghavendra Gowda of the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Chamarajanagar and T Narsipur sub-inspector M Shivanna. Gowda, who was sub-inspector in Bannur, under Mahadevappa’s T Narsipur Assembly constituency, was recently promoted and posted to the ACB.
