And when it’s served with coconut chutney and sambar, it tastes awesome.
Dose Mane in Chamarajpet has its variants of dosas but the joint is known for its Davanagere Benne Dose. You would be spoilt for choices once you enter this place.

Dose Mane is popular for its ‘open dose’. Located on the 4th Main Road, Chamarajpet, near Uma Theatre Circle, the joint serves tasty maddur vada, gundu pongal and tatte idli.  “At the time of starting this open kitchen eatery, seven years ago, I already had fifteen years of experience in hotel industry.

Knowing the difficulties of running a hotel, I decided to keep the menu short and simple. We only serve dosas but the crowd we get is as good as any other restaurant,” says Sudhakar H, the man who started the eatery.

The joint opens at 7.30 am and remains open till 10.30 pm. The menu includes benne dose, masala benne dose, kali dose, open dose and ‘set dose’. Dosas are served with coconut chutney and vegetable palya.

One good thing about the place is that they serve the accompaniments liberally.
“The present generation is very health conscious. They think twice before eating unhealthy stuff. Many think that hotels use low quality butter and oil but here we make sure we use pure ghee. We have also displayed this on our walls. You get to see how we make the dosa and can check the butter that we use,” Sudhakar says.

The joint is packed on weekend and people pour in from different corners of the City to savour the varieties of dosas. Service is quick and the price is reasonable. The takeaway counter is also available. For details, call 9845702823.
