PM Modi in Bengaluru: Traffic restrictions around Electronic City

Bengaluru: Bengaluru police have imposed several traffic restrictions given Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bengaluru on Sunday to inaugurate Namma Metro's Yellow Line.

“Because of the VVIP visit to Bengaluru, the following traffic arrangements were made from 10.00 am to 2.30 pm in the interest of smooth movement of traffic. All vehicles will be diverted to Bannerghatta Road at the Bannerghatta Road Nice Toll,” the traffic police said.

The traffic restrictions

Vehicles moving from Bannerghatta Road Nice Toll to Electronic City Toll, from Kanakapura Road NICE Toll to Electronic City Toll, from Nayandahalli Nice Toll to Electronic City Toll, from Sompura Nice Toll to Electronic City Toll, from PES College Nice Toll to Electronic City Toll, from Kengeri Nice Toll to Electronic City Toll, from Magadi Road Nice toll to Electronic City toll, from Madavara Road Nice toll to Electronic City toll and vehicle going towards the Electronic City toll from the Parle Biscuits factory Road.

Alternative Routes

Vehicles coming from the NICE Road towards the Electronic City Toll, vehicles travelling towards Electronic City via the Nelamangala NICE Toll-Magadhi road and NICE Toll-Kengeri NICE Toll-Kanakapura Nice Toll routes are being stopped at the Bannerghatta Road Toll and being diverted to Bannerghatta Road .

Those moving towards Electronic City can primarily be reached via the Bannerghatta Road route - NICE Road Junction - Sharewood Junction – Kolifarm Gate Junction - Bannerghatta Village - Jigani to Hosur Road/ Electronic City.

“By taking a left turn near Dabaspet, vehicles can reach the Chandapura-Attibele-Hosur road by following the Doddaballapura-Devanahalli-Sulibele-Hosakote route,” the traffic police said.

Further, the traffic police restricted the movement of all types of vehicles from KSR Railway Platform 7 and 8 via Khode underpass and from Khode Circle to Maharani Bridge. As an alternative, the commuters were asked to use LTP Road, Cottonpet Main Road, Mysore Road, and Magadi Main Road.

"All vehicles coming from Shantala Junction towards Khode Junction should move via LTP Road and Cottonpet Main Road. All vehicles going towards Khode Junction from BMTC and KSRTC exit should move via LTP Road and Cottonpet Main Road. All vehicles coming from Mysore Bank towards Chalukya Circle should move via KG Road, Mysore Bank Junction, Sagar Junction, KG Junction, Elite, TB Road and Rajiv Gandhi Circle.

"All vehicles coming from Kanakadasa Junction on Kalidasa road towards Freedom Park may take a right turn at Kanakadasa Junction and move towards Sagar Junction. All vehicles coming from Maurya/Subbanna junction towards Freedom Park may take a right turn from Subbanna Junction and proceed towards Anand Rao Circle. All vehicles coming from Lalbagh Main Gate towards Lalbagh West Gate may take a left turn in front of Lalbagh Main Gate or take a right turn via JC Road and proceed," the police said.
