Bengaluru: The Bengaluru police have launched a search operation for a gang of four who brutally hacked a 42-year-old rowdy-sheeter at a bar in north Bengaluru’s Soladevanahalli on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Jayaram K, a resident of Chikkabommasandra in Yelahanka New Town. He had a rowdy sheet against him at the Yelahanka New Town police station since 2016, according to the police.
"We have identified the suspects. They haven't been involved in any other crimes previously. This appears to be a case of old rivalry,” an investigator in the case told DH.
According to a well-placed source, a rowdy sheet was opened against Jayaram in 2016 after he allegedly murdered his neighbour. The police believe that the brother of the man whom Jayaram killed plotted his murder.
“This suspect is presently lodged in the Central Prison. He had made a sextortion call to a girl last year from the prison,” the officer said.
