He allegedly sent Ramya obscene and threatening messages from his friend's Instagram account. The CCB is currently interrogating him.

Others arrested in the case are Bhuvan Gowda, Rajesh, T Obanna, Gangadhar and Manjunath. They are all said to be fans of Kannada actor Darshan Thogudeepa, who is the prime accused in the June 2024 murder of Chitradurga native Renukaswamy.

On July 28, Ramya filed a complaint with the Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh, naming 43 social media handles that were used to abuse and troll her after she had posted about the Supreme Court proceedings in the Renukaswamy murder case.

The police converted the complaint into an FIR and transferred the investigation to the CCB. They are looking out for other suspects.
