Bengaluru: The suspect in the Suddaguntepalya molestation case, who was arrested in Kerala on Sunday, has confessed to the crime, the police said.
Further investigations are underway.
Santosh Daniel, a resident of Gulbarga Colony in Tilak Nagar, was arrested in Kozhikode, Kerala, by a police team from SG Palya. He was brought to Bengaluru on Monday morning, and the police obtained six days of custody.
"During interrogation, he confessed to having committed the crime. We will soon conduct a mahazar,” a senior police officer overseeing the case told DH. The police will also carry out an identification parade involving the suspect and the victim.
According to the police, Santosh was intoxicated on the night of the incident.
He followed two women who were walking home along an isolated street in Bharathi Layout. He initially attempted to strike up a conversation with them, but when the women ignored him and began walking faster, he accosted and groped one of them before fleeing the scene after they raised an alarm.
