After extensive cross-examination and verification of the image with available CCTV footages, the investigating agencies finally released the computer-generated sketch of the suspect on Wednesday.
However, the delay in releasing the sketch of the suspect, which was drawn as per the eyewitness account of their own colleague, doesn’t give much credit to the City police.
Apart from that, it also shows that the police are struggling to make headway in the investigations, even five days after the incident.
Addressing reporters here, City Police Commissioner Shankar M Bidari said the suspect “is a lean, oval-faced, and wheatish-complexioned youth” with a height of approximately 5.5 feet.
The suspect is wanted under Sections 120 (B) (criminal conspiracy), 121 (waging or attempting to wage war or abetting waging of war against the Government of India), 121 (A) (conspiracy to commit offences punishable by Section 121), 435 (mischief by destroying or moving, a land-mark fixed by public authority, mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to cause damage), 307 (attempt to murder), and 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty)of the Indian Penal Code.

‘Suitcase lifters’
A day after a team of the Bangalore City Crime Branch rushed to Hubli to interrogate five people arrested in connection with the case, Bidari said they were just “suitcase lifters.”
The twin blasts case had taken a dramatic turn when a man travelling without ticket on a Bangalore-bound train from Ghaziabad was arrested in Belgaum and later brought to Hubli for interrogation.
Later, based on the information given by him, four others were arrested.
