The city police are on the lookout for a scooter rider who groped a 26-year-old woman in Richmond Town on October 23.
The private firm employee was returning home from work when the accused, seated on his scooter, blocked her way at Wellington Street in Richmond Town. Before she realised what was happening, he groped her and sped away as she shouted for help. A few pedestrians came to her rescue, but the man had disappeared by then.
Lodging a complaint with the Ashok Nagar police the next day, the woman told the officers that the man wore a black jacket and a full-mask helmet. She gave them part of the scooter's registration number that she managed to note down, besides the colour and the make of the vehicle.
The police are now reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to identify the perpetrator.
