Police summon cricketer Amit Mishra

The Ashok Nagar police are waiting for cricketer Amit Mishra, who is currently representing India in the ongoing One Day International series against South Africa,  to reply to the notice served by them and also appear before them.

The cricketer has been booked on charges of physically assaulting and verbally abusing a woman, who claims to be a Bollywood producer.

A senior police officer said, “We have sent a notice to him (Amit Mishra) and are waiting for his reply. Also, we have asked him to appear before the jurisdictional police at the earliest and also to co-operate with them in the investigation process."

"We are collecting the information from the staff at the hotel on Residency Road, where the incident took place. It seems like the victim is known to Mishra and has visited him a couple of times. To get an exact picture we will question Mishra and the victim and then carry on with the case," added the officer.

The victim,who is from Bengaluru approached the Ashok Nagar police on September 25 and lodged a complaint against Mishra.
