On the night of July 25, Tabrez picked a fight with her current husband at her mother's home in Valmiki Nagar, off Mysuru Road.

Muskan's maternal uncle, Mohammed Shafiullah, was present at the house as he had come to visit his sister. When Shafiullah tried to intervene in the fight, Tabrez attacked him with a knife.

Santhosh, a head constable posted at the Chamarajpet police station, happened to be having dinner at a nearby restaurant. He decided to intervene after being alerted to the fight, but Tabrez beat him and knifed him in the wrist.

Tabrez then fled the scene along with three of his relatives, who had come to support him. A Hoysala patrol car arrived at the scene and sent Santosh and Shafiullah to hospital by an ambulance.

Both the injured men are recovering and out of danger. The police have tracked down Tabrez and his three relatives, an officer said.
