Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths on Thursday raided a massage parlour in Banaswadi and busted a prostitution racket. Eleven people, including a former assistant of a Tamil Nadu minister, were arrested.
CCB officials said that based on credible information, they raided Beauty and Style unisex salon and spa and rescued four girls from West Bengal. The arrested are Rajesh, Pramod Kumar, Manju, Dev Singh and Javed Shah, all pimp, and Khanaiya Lal, Ravikanth, Pawan Kumar, Satyanarayana, Srinath and Saurabh Roy, customers at the spa. Spa owner Balaji Gowda and manager Umesh are absconding.
“During investigation, it was found that they were operating a sex racket in the name of a spa and salon. Questioning of the arrested persons revealed that Satyanarayana was working as an assistant to Balakrishna Reddy, a former president of Hosur town municipal corporation and now a minister in Tamil Nadu,” said a senior police officer.
“The girls were lured to the city on the promise of a better future. Later, they were forced into prostitution and were abused frequently,” added the officer. A case has been registered at the Banaswadi police station and investigation is being carried out.
