The members went in a procession raising slogans against the BBMP and holding placards denouncing the fake bill fraudsters.
Later, the rally converged at the BBMP office.
The IAC members held a meeting in which lawyer Narasimha Murthy said corruption in the BBMP has become an order of the day. A mechanism should be developed to check it, he added.
Another IAC member and office-bearer of Citizens’ Action Forum (CAF) Meenakshi Bharath said the government should hold an inquiry into the fake bills scam to restore faith in the system. She also demanded appointment of Lokayukta at the earliest to strengthen the ombudsman.
