Bengaluru: Retired BMTC and KSRTC employees held a protest at Lalbagh on Sunday demanding the payment of Rs 7,500 plus allowances and medical facilities.
The retirees — all Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS) pensioners — have vowed to hold a bigger protest at Freedom Park in September if the authorities do not address their demands.
Nanjundegowda, president of the BMTC And KSRTC Retired Employees' Association, said their protest was part of a nationwide agitation by thousands of retired EPS members.
A protest rally will be held at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on August 4 and 5.
The pensioners want the central government to fulfill their demands before Parliament's monsoon session concludes on August 21.
