Bengaluru: A protest demanding justice for techie Atul Subhash and policeman Tipanna Alagur, who both died by suicide after allegedly being harassed by their wives and in-laws, was held at Freedom Park in Bengaluru on Sunday.
Organised by the Save Indian Family Foundation (SIFF), the protest described the losses as "tragic and heartbreaking", while pointing to the "immense struggles faced by men due to systemic biases and the misuse of certain laws".
The SIFF aimed to highlight the alleged misuse of laws that lead to family destruction and suicides, calling for greater accountability and stringent action against those who file false cases.
The foundation also drew attention to what they called injustice in alimony practices, referring to them as "blood money". In addition to the protest, a candlelight vigil was held to honour the lives lost.
