Bengaluru: A total of 23 citizens turned up to meet BBMP Chief Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao at the Yelahanka zonal office on Friday.
Two of them complained about the encroachments in and around the Narasipura and Rachenahalli lakes. Another said that houses are being built in the Narasipura Lake area.
Other complaints included early completion of the underpass work near the Yelahanka railway station, construction of a bus shelter on Hegde Nagar main road, lack of roadside drains in Srinivasapura near Kogilu, etc.
During his visit, Rao, along with Yelahanka MLA SR Vishwanath, inspected the Yelahanka Lake as well as the stormwater drain work near Vayu Vihar apartment, which was flooded multiple times this year.
In a separate development, the BBMP’s South and RR Nagar zones cleared footpath encroachments across different divisions to help ease pedestrian movement. The drive, a first after a long gap, involved clearing of permanent structures, pushcarts, materials, etc.
