In a bid to provide better service to the passengers and prevent unauthorised entry into the platform, the Railways has opened a counter near the Metro station close to platform number 10 of Krantiveer Sangolli Rayanna station to issue unreserved and platform tickets.

Divisional Railway Manager Sanjiv Agarwal has inaugurated the counter on Tuesday.
Earlier, the Metro users alighting at City Railway Station used to enter the platform at KSR station without platform ticket and a few of them would end up coughing penalties.

Also, the passengers were forced to walk up to the entrance of the railway station to get unreserved or platform tickets as it was the only place where tickets were issued.

Checking drive
The Railways staff has collected a fine of Rs 1.21 lakh from ticketless travellers during the checking drive at Krantiveer Sangolli Rayanna railway station on Monday.
