Bengaluru: Moderate to heavy rainfall lashed several parts of the city on Sunday, causing waterlogging in low-lying areas and slowing down traffic.

Heavy rain was reported in eastern Bengaluru, Gottigere and Electronics City, while stretches such as RP Road near Windsor Manor and Bhashyam Circle were waterlogged and witnessed slow traffic.

Southern neighbourhoods, including Jayanagar, Kumaraswamy Layout and RR Nagar, also recorded moderate to heavy showers.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that Bengaluru city received 5.8 mm of rainfall and HAL Airport 3.8 mm, as of 5.30 pm. The Bengaluru Urban automatic weather station recorded 6.0 mm.

More rain ahead

The IMD has forecast heavy rain on Monday, accompanied by sustained winds of 40–50 kmph. Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to continue across Bengaluru till Friday.
