Water supply was affected in most parts of the City on Friday as the BWSSB took up maintenance work at the Cauvery Stage II and III pumping stations.

Although maintenance work was completed by 10 am at Harohalli and Tataguni, KPTCL took up changing of breakers of 220 KV power station in Cauvery Stage I and IV simultaneously to avoid any shutdown in future. An official from the BWSSB confirmed at 7 pm that all the Cauvery water supply stages had commenced pumping of water and regular water supply is expected to resume on February 12.

The official explained that since the Board supplies water once every two days, residents who were not supplied water on Friday, will receive water only on Sunday.

The BWSSB Call Centre received 336 calls on Friday, of which 189 calls were complaints regarding water supply. About 20 callers, who requested that water tankers be sent to their areas, were directed to contact the respective assistant engineer of their areas.
