Bengaluru: Commemorating 76 years of the adoption of the Constitution of India, the Bangalore City Institute organised an exhibition of rare coins and stamps on Sunday.
The exhibition was curated by numismatist and philatelist Sukumar Kuna.
From the British era to special notes and commemorative stamps, Kuna’s collection had medieval coins and notes, Persian Gulf Indian rupee notes, Haj rupee notes, currency notes of Ceylon, Burma and Pakistan printed by the Reserve Bank of India, alongside a collection of stamps uniquely produced as silver and gold ingots and gold-embossed Bhagavad Gita.
Speaking to DH, Kuna, also BCI president, said that he had been collecting old stamps since he was 13 years old and continued his passion for over four decades now.
