Villagers and residents of Panathur and Balagere near Varthur staged a protest on Friday, demanding a wider Outer Ring Road connecting the Varthur Main Road.
They complained that the roads were in a bad condition. "The stretch houses many prestigious residential complexes and also connects several villages. Nearly three lakh residents use the roads, yet it remains neglected," said a resident of Panathur. "The road infrastructure has not developed to match the growth in the area. Thus, the commuters spend stupendously long hours to pass this stretch. It is a nightmare."
