The Bruhat Bengaluru Hotels Association on Monday announced that they do not support the nationwide bandh on January 8 and 9.

Many restaurant owners have also announced that they do not support the bandh.

Association Secretary, Subramanya Holla H S, told DH that they do not support the bandh. “Hotel industry uses large quantity of fruits, milk, vegetables and other perishable items on daily basis and will have an adverse impact on farmers. There have already been several bundhs in the year 2018. It is really unfortunate to have a bandh of two consecutive days in the beginning of the year itself. This type of bandh will have an adverse impact on the economy of the country, especially in the tourism and hospitality industry,” he said.

He added that the bundh will also have an adverse impact on new investors.
