The Bangalore University Syndicate has decided to urge the state government to restrict public vehicles from entering the Jnanabharathi campus, citing increasing traffic congestion.
Over 25,000 vehicles pass through the campus daily, disrupting academic activities and causing accidents, the Syndicate said. It will request curbs on public traffic along the road connecting Nagarabhavi to the university.
The Syndicate also resolved that no private programmes or activities shall be held on campus without prior approval. This includes the Jnanabharathi Walkers’ Association. Unauthorised events will invite legal action, it said.
