A city-based technology firm has developed an app that connects people with local events and businesses.

Gridlle provides a curated content with local links unlike Google which is more extensive and general in nature, says Srikanth Rama Bhadran Shamala, the CEO of the firm also named Gridlle.

For instance, the folklore that has  kept the nooks and corners of Bengaluru alive for centuries has become obscure. It is almost like the soul of the city has drowned in the influx of its growth, he said.

Prospects like business and education continue to draw people from various parts of the country and the world, and with people come their exclusive cultures and traditions.

"There has been a paradigm shift in lifestyles in recent years, and it is happening in every corner of the city. We are simply trying to make people aware of the options they have to play catalyst," he says.

He continues: "One of the key drivers of the company is the  diversity of information. We host a variety of clients that range from local eateries  to nonprofits like B.PAC, Parikrama and MAD. C

Clients can post their offers and events on the application's platform while people can make use of them  as they wish."

Power to people

But the app's merit goes beyond connecting clients and customers. While snapping the menace of middle-men, the app "gives the power of advertising directly into the hands of people," says Srikanth.  To this end, the firm has started a campaign called 'Revamp Bengaluru' to engage local people in their initiative.
