Bengaluru: The Govindapura police have arrested a notorious rowdy and booked him under the stringent Goonda Act, officials said on Thursday.
The 35-year-old accused, Mohammed Akram — also known as Akram alias Akkuba — has a criminal record spanning 21 cases, including attempted murder, assault, and extortion, the police said.
After securing bail in some cases, Akram went into hiding. He also had six pending non-bailable warrants against him in Bengaluru and Kalaburagi.
On Thursday, the police arrested Akram, invoked the Goonda Act against him, and remanded him to the Kalaburagi prison.
