The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested five associates of notorious rowdy Nagaraj alias Pitta and Silent Sunil and recovered lethal weapons from them.
Anand, 25, Ravi, 24 and Vinod, all from Malleswaram, Chandrashekhar, 23, of JC Nagar and Nagaraj, 34, of Parvathipuram are the arrested. Preetham, another suspect managed to escape.
On a tip-off, police arrested them near Kannada Sahitya Parishat in Chamarajpet when they were hatching a conspiracy to murder their rival gang members Prashanth, Thimma and their associates.
Police said Nagaraj was wanted in a murder case, four attempts to murder and two assault cases, while Anand faces charges of double murder and a murder, police said.
BMTC passenger killed
A 24-year-old passenger of a BMTC bus who peeked out of the window of the moving vehicle, was killed when his head hit a parked goods vehicle in Hebbal police limits on Monday.
The deceased was identified as G P Harish, a resident of Hoodi.
A native of Tarikere in Chikmagalur district, he was supervisor at a private firm. The driver of the bus is at large, police said.
