Bengaluru: Arogya World, an NGO dedicated to preventing non-communicable diseases through health education and lifestyle changes, organised 'Run in Red', a marathon to raise awareness about women’s heart health.
More than 1,500 people participated in the event, which aimed to highlight the importance of physical activity in reducing the risk of heart disease among women.
The marathon was held at Christ University’s Hosur Road campus.
Nalini Saligram, Founder and CEO of Arogya World, said, "Heart disease is the leading cause of death among women — something that is largely underappreciated. Through our Run in Red event, we mark International Women’s Day, shine a spotlight on women’s heart health, and encourage women to take charge of their well-being by adopting healthier lifestyles."
