Looking beautiful in a Narendra Kumar creation, this actress sizzled on the ramp as the showstopper. She was quite happy with the response she got and says, “There is something very charming about Narendra Kumar because his clothes are meant to enhance your beauty. Moreover, wearing one of his creations is an honour in itself.”
When asked about her fashion mantra, she says it is not important to follow trends to be fashionable. “I do not believe in the concept of following what is ‘in’. It is important to feel confident and beautiful in whatever you wear,” she says.
Before acting, this enthusiastic actress used to be a model. She says, “The reason I got into this field was because I had a few responsibilities. I had to fulfil them and modelling was the best option at that time. So my tryst with the entertainment industry has been a long one.”
But she admits that she had never planned to be an actor. “This foray into movies happened out of luck and I didn’t plan for it to be this way.” But whatever it is, she is happy with the way things have panned out for her.
She was seen in a glamourous role in her first movie Veer, in which she was paired opposite Salman Khan. Talking about her experience, she says, “Salman is a very down-to-earth actor. He is such a great actor and one would expect him to throw his weight around on the sets. But he never had any air or acted like he was superior to any of us.” She adds, “Many people have a misconception about him. But he is a very nice human being and I am glad I worked with such a professional actor in my debut film.”
She even shot for the popular song Character Dheela for the movie ‘Ready’. But she feels disappointed when people refer to it as an item number. She says, “A lot of people consider this as an item number. But this is not one since there were a whole lot of people in the song too. It is a very fun song and added to the
storyline.”
She has two movies lined up in the future. Talking of them, she says, “One is Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Housefull 2’. The other one is a movie by Vikram Bhatt which is a period drama. I play a princess and this role is very similar to the one I played in my debut.”
Mention Bangalore and she recollects the time she had come here on work purpose.
She rues, “This might be my third or fourth visit to the City. But I still haven’t explored it that well. But one thing I have noticed is that the City is very clean. I would love to spend more time here in future.”
