The first day of the Second PU exams began with biology paper at the centres across the State on Friday.
Chaithra S, a student of a government PU College said: “I was able to answer most of the questions as the paper was quite easy. I prepared from question papers of previous years and I can tell you that the paper was much easier than that of last year’s,” she said.
Another student Udaya from St Annes PU College, referred to the biology paper as ‘a sail’. “It has made me confident of facing the other subjects and scoring high,” said Udaya.
According to the coaching institutes, ACE and BASE which have analysed the paper, an average student can score around 70 to 75 per cent. They further said that the paper was unambiguous in nature with no confusing questions and the difficulty level was the same as last year.
There were, however, a few questions that were repeated from the same topic.
Meanwhile adressing some concerns about a few rumored errors in the Electronics paper, K N Ranganath, joint director (exams), Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) said. “Over all it was smooth exam. There were no errors in the Electronics paper. Some minor differences in the paper have been wrongly claimed as errors,” he said.
DPUE officials said that there were no cases of malpractices on the day and no one was debarred.
