In a bid to encourage women safety, Bollywood actor Gurmeet Choudhary is all set to launch a self-defense app, dedicated to his female fans.

“I’m advocating safety through martial arts. I want to ensure that they take positive steps to protect themselves when caught in tricky situations,” said Gurmeet, expressing his concern over the rising crimes against women.

“We all know what happened on New Year’s Eve when young girls were mocked, molested and abused in public places. I was shocked and saddened by the plight of those defenceless young girls,” added the actor.

“They were aware that I have a fan base of young girls and that I am well-versed in martial arts. They were researching on the topic and looking for various measures to curb the rising crimes against young girls,” said the  33-year-old, who also demonstrated some basic self-defence techniques that young girls could use when caught in difficult situations. The app enables all women to easily learn the techniques in the comfort of their homes.

Earlier, Gurmeet along with his wife Debina was in the news for adopting two girls from his village Jairampur in Bihar.
