The situation was tense for a while at KR Market metro underground station on late Saturday night as a few sheets from the roof collapsed.
The incident occurred around 10.30 pm at the south entrance gate. However, the incident did not result in any tragedy.
"About six sheets over escalator started hanging. Minutes later, one of them came crashing down with pieces of brick and dust, " Mahananda, an eyewitness told DH.
The metro staff immediately rushed to the spot and cleared the sheets. They closed all entry points into the station.
A few passengers were safely guided outside the station.
