Shopkeeper in Bengaluru arrested for groping 7-year-old

Bengaluru: A shopkeeper from Bagalagunte has been arrested for groping a seven-year-old girl on the pretext of giving her chips, police said. 

The girl used to visit Mohammad Haji's shop located next door to  her house to buy groceries. On Thursday, when she came to buy chips, he lied to her that it had run out. He then took her into his warehouse and touched her inappropriately, police added. 

The girl informed her family, and her aunt filed a police complaint. 

The police arrested the shopkeeper under the Prevention Of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act. A court has remanded him in judicial custody.
