The buildings were demolished on a request made by the Muzrai Department. Speaking with mediapersons, he claimed that during the demolition there were no officials from the Muzrai Department and blamed the Bangalore police for their ‘high handedness’. “Even the local MLA and the corporator was not informed,” he said.
Siddaramiah questioned the motive behind the demolition and vowed to raise the issue in the Assembly. As many as 48 shops and houses were demolished by the BBMP.
