A heavy rush was witnessed at the RV Road Metro station for a brief time after a train developed snag and created a gap of 15 minutes in train service on Sunday.

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) said a train moving from Yelachenahalli towards Nagasandra encountered a technical problem and the train operator applied emergency breaks at the RV Road station.

“Passengers were requested to deboard the train at the RV Road station’s platform. The train was taken back to Yelchennahalli for repairs (sic),” BMRCL Chief Public Relations Officer U A Vasanth Rao said.

The Green Line (Yelachenahalli-Nagasandra) witnesses a sizeable crowd on Sundays. The process of moving the train delayed two trains, which were held at Banashankari and JP Nagar stations that were delayed by 10 and 6.5 minutes, respectively. “A standby train at Yelchannahalli was inducted to mainline for revenue service. The defective train is now set right and will be on revenue service tomorrow (Monday),” Rao said.
