Meanwhile, Associated Managements of Private Schools In Karnataka (KAMS) has told its member schools declare a holiday in the interest of children’s safety. “Why has the government made such a hasty decision? Even before relaxing the curfew, they have declared that tomorrow will be a working day. Can they assure the safety of students?” KAMS general secretary Shashi Kumar questioned. He has written an e-mail to the city police commisioner seeking clarification on how the managements can operate schools when Section 144 and curfew have not been lifted.

City Police Commissioner N S Megharik has said that the police will take necessary steps to ensure students’ safety.
