Speeding car hits bike, kills construction worker in BengaluruThe Devanahalli traffic police said that Velu was riding pillion on a friend’s bike when a speeding car crashed into the vehicle from behind, causing both of them to fall onto the road. Bengaluru: A 56-year-old construction worker from Kolar was killed on Thursday night after a car rammed into the two-wheeler he was riding pillion on.

The accident occurred on Pujanahalli Road, near the airport toll plaza, around 7:30 pm.

D Velu, the victim, was employed at a construction site in the upcoming Oval Reef Layout and lived in a temporary shelter at the site.

The Devanahalli traffic police said that Velu was riding pillion on a friend’s bike when a speeding car crashed into the vehicle from behind, causing both of them to fall onto the road. While the rider sustained minor injuries, Velu suffered severe injuries and was declared dead on the way to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the car driver fled the scene and is yet to be detained. However, the police have traced the vehicle and are on the lookout for the driver.
