Bengaluru: The SPIC MACAY–IIMB Bangalore Chapter is all set to host its annual cultural extravaganza, Yamini 2025, a dusk-to-dawn celebration of Indian classical music and dance.
The event will take place from 7.30 pm on January 25 to 6.30 am on January 26 at the Open-Air Theatre (OAT) of the IIM Bangalore campus.
Now in its 21st edition, this flagship cultural fest is open to the IIMB community and the public, offering a platform for timeless traditions and artistic excellence.
The event features a stellar lineup of renowned artists from across the country, right from the veena concert by Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee Vidwan D Balakrishna with BS Prashanth on mridangam and Shamith Gowda on ghatam to a Hindustani flute and tabla performance by SNA awardee and Guinness World Record holder Pandit Ronu Majumdar and SNA awardee Pandit Anindo Chatterjee.
Also featuring in the event is a Kathakali performance by SNA awardee Kalamandalam Balasubramaniam and troop, besides Carnatic vocals by Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar awardee Vidwan Saketharaman with Nishanth Chandran on violin, Delhi Sairam on mridangam, and Rajashekar on morsing.
Capping off the night will be Padma Shri awardee Ustad Wasifuddin Dagar’s Dhrupad, accompanied by Mohan Shyam Sharma on Pakhavaj, and John Haywood, Rinku Lamba, and Jagannath Rao on Tanpura.
